Luxury Villa in North-East Corfu

Corfu's north-east coast - and further afield

The Stone House sits above the pretty harbour and village of San Stephanos (Agios Stefanos), one of the most attractive locations on the fashionably upmarket north-east coast of Corfu. This picturesque fishing village has a charming, traditional feel to it but with the addition of a choice of shops, some excellent tavernas and a two great bars for those looking for some nightlife or to watch the rugby or football. San Stephanos has a small beach with wooden jetties which are ideal for sunbathing or fishing and you can easily rent a boat if you fancy exploring the pretty bays and coves along the neighbouring coastline--which we strongly recomend. These include Agni, with its three world famous tavernas; Avlaki with its sailing school and horse riding; and Kerasia with its Blue Flag beach. Or you could choose to stop off at a secluded spot for swimming and sunbathing. If you prefer to walk, there is a coastal footpath that runs south from San Stephanos to Kerasia, Koulora, Kalami and Agni. A variety of watersports are available at several nearby locations.

Renting a car allows you to explore further afield. The nearby port of Kassiopi is the north-east coast's largest village, with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Its nightlife is lively but restrained. Boats trips leave from Kassiopi harbour each day to Corfu Town and beaches along the coast. You can also book day trips to Paxos; Butrint in Albania, a world heritage site, or the Greek mainland. Skippered yacht charter is also available. Other excursions might include the restored village of Perithia, towards the summit of Pantokrator, Corfu's highest mountain, or a round or two at Corfu's golf course on the west of the island. And of course, no trip to Corfu would be complete without a visit to historic Corfu Town with its Venetian buildings; French colonnades, and constant reminders of when Corfu was an outpost of the British Empire, such as cricket matches and ginger beer.
